Kookaburras put one foot in knockout stage after dominating Argentina

By The Roar / Editor

The Kookaburras are all but through to the men’s field hockey quarterfinals at Tokyo 2020 after a comfortable 5-2 win over Argentina.

The Aussies went behind early but were simply dominant from that point forward and now sit atop Pool A with three wins from as many matches and an imposing +11 goal difference.

With the top four teams in each pool progressing to the quarterfinals, it would take something nearly unheard of for the Aussies to be bundled out from here.

Australia have seen off India 7-1 and Japan 5-3 already, with matches against New Zealand (Wednesday, 9:15pm) and Spain (Friday, 10am) to come.
