Having been tipped as one of 2020’s big improvers, the St Kilda Saints will be keen to get through the Marsh Community Series undefeated when they take on the Collingwood Magpies in Morwell. Join The Roar for live scores from the Marsh Community Series from 3:50pm (AEDT).
A host of quality recruits in last year’s trade period, including wingman Bradley Hill (Fremantle), key defender Dougal Howard and experienced ruckman Paddy Ryder (both Port Adelaide), have given Saints fans hope of ending their eight-year finals drought.
The next generation were just as impressive, though, in their first Marsh series win over Hawthorn a fortnight ago, the likes of Hunter Clark, Max King and Jade Gresham all front and centre in a comfortable win.
The Pies welcome back plenty of big names for their final pre-season match, including captain Scott Pendlebury, gun ruckman Brodie Grundy and defenders Darcy Moore and Jeremy Howe (all selected in the AFL’s State of Origin match).
Despite those outs, they were still to good for an equally undermanned Richmond last week, and another win would definitely assert the Pies as a premiership frontrunner in 2020.
First bounce: 3:50pm (AEDT)

Peter, I am watching another ho hum practice game and I thought of two things about your boys, actually three but we have talked about Tatts previously. If you lose Darcy, it would be a serious loss. The other is why didn’t the Pies roll the dice with Josh Jenkins? Could have paid off and risk was low.
