Well said richo. The AFL is like a totalitarian regime. You just can’t criticise the Czar. Sure, it’s a tough gig....but..... a throw is a throw. A push in the back is a push in the back. A jumper outstretched in a hand is a hold. No wonder Essendon beat north. 7 frees scoring shots. Cunnington held at E VERY ccentre bounce. Goldstein held at ruck throw ins. And don’t get me started about the saints game. Absolute bloody disgrace

I think it's a good idea that former players become umpires however, having a former player umpire the club he used to play for places him in a difficult position. With Leigh Fischer for example, I have noticed over the times he has umpired the Saints that he tends to give more free kicks to the opposition. Whether it's deliberate or not I don't know, but as soon as he gives free kicks to the Saints, he is openly accused of cheating by the opponents fans of still being a Saints player. Maybe the AFL Umpiring Dept should consider having him umpire less St Kilda games which will be fairer for both parties..
