Comment from Justin Crowe of Essendon: "In a training drill last week Joe got a cork in his calf at the start of the drill. Soon after he tightened up so we stopped him training. When we scanned it that showed a tear to his soleus so that's why we expect him to miss five games or the equivalent of five weeks of football. We don't see it that often but it can happen where you get a bleed from a cork that then creates an environment with a muscle for it to be a consequent strain." Perhaps former players and media commentators should leave medical opinions to the experts. https://www.essendonfc.com.au/video/2019-03-19/btv-skins-injury-update-march-19
