Ouch, Danger. Coward? That really is a stretch and implies gross ignorance. What is transpiring is sheep mentality . . . baaa-aaaa.

Actually I did, just not sure how it has anything to with anything. Given what you're implying does that than mean that; all the critics of these actions are just a mob of inexperienced, none-playing nancies? -orrr could it be that being a sniper and coward isn't a tough or "playing on the edge" and people are simply calling it out? Something tells me it's the latter, not the former, which is transpiring.

Exactly! I'm hoping port can show them what "tough" football really looks like tomorrow night. Couldn't agree more regarding the Lynch thing, has clearly gone overboard and distracted everyone from an otherwise unacceptable, genuinely dangerous action from a so called "captain." The fact that Cotchin wasn't even reported/looked-at was astonishing, and puts the entire AFL's disciplinary procedure under the spotlight. It's a disgrace that we refuse to take action UNLESS someone is seriously hurt (another example being Burgoyne's sling tackle on Dangerfield in round 2). Great message to sound out to the younger generation... Shameful from the AFL, Richmond and Trent, who got up and rather than apologising, decided to have a laugh. To summarise; cheap shots aren't tough, they're just pathetic.

All the commentary about Lynch has distracted from Cotchin's effort which would probably have been a send off offense if not a suspension in the rugby codes. The Lynch stuff is stupid but a waste of time. Tough footy is what we saw from Port and Geelong last weekend not what Richmond dished up.

Seen the whole interview and I think he has badly missed the point. The problem everyone has with these incidents (and the ones before) were that they consisted of cheap shots when players are down/not-looking or in case of Cotch, relaxed/unawares because the whistle had already been blown,- these actions are not "manly", "tough" or "a part of a contact sport." They are cheap shots by cheap/dirty players. Cotchins in particular could have resulted in a nasty injury. Ask yourself, would I still be here defending it if it resulted in a spinal injury for Jones? Is that what we consider "tough" now? Cheap sling tackles to unaware players with the intention of causing injury? Is that the kind of example we wish to set for all the kids watching, after so many years spent trying to "clean up the game?" It's seriously shameful to defend it, and again, no wonder everyone is jumping on the hate train. Self inflicted wounds from the tigers, who in the span of a few months have completely destroyed their clubs social standings and reputation. Congratulations Damien, mission accomplished

Fair assessment. Trial by media can be expected in this day and age. Doesn't mean they're right though, more likely creating self importance. Haters then jump on the bandwagon 'cause they can't think in a rational, sensible way for themselves, unlike the great man that is Tredders.
