You are allowed to rush a behind under pressure within 9m of the goals. These are correctly not penalised. Booting the ball through from 20m out is always going to be called.

Yeah but the fact of the matter is deliberate behinds are very rarely called

Boos from a crowd don't make this a contentious decision. It was never in doubt that this was & always will be penalised as a clearly deliberately forced behind. The dumb decision was made by Sidebottom.

it would be a free if it had gone 10m either side of the post, the defensive posts are no different. great call!

Sidebottom tends to think he's smarter tha the rest of the world. As a Collingwood supporter, I wish he'd get rid of his wry smile and get serious.

I guess you could make an argument that a Collingwood player was running past but I think it was pretty egregious from Sidebottom and that is the reason the deliberate behind rule was brought in.

Chris Donlon is a very good umpire - - he got this right (really had no option).

I think that was the right call. There was no reason Sidebottom needed to kick the ball that hard unless it was to go through the behind post. I applaud the umpire in this instance.
