UFC champion defends title with vicious head kick

By The Roar / Editor

Well, this is one way to make a certainty of it.

Valentina Shevchenko took just 26 seconds in the second round to defend her women’s flyweight title at UFC 238 in Chicago, unleashing a vicious head kick that sent Jessica Eye crashing to the canvas.

Eye was on the ground with her arms sprawled out beside her for some time as medical trainers assessed her.

The victory is Shevchenko’s first successful defence of her title and her third win in a row in the UFC.

Meanwhile, Henry Cejudo added to his flyweight belt by defeating Marlon Moraes to claim the vacant bantamweight title.

The result sees Cejudo become just the fourth fighter in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously.
