As the group stage is near its conclusion, Bangladesh and India face off today at Edgbaston. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 7:30pm (AEST).
After seven games, Bangladesh have secured three victories, which keeps them in the hunt for a spot in the knockout stage of the 2019 World Cup.
If Bangladesh win their last two games and results go their way, they will progress. It remains a long-shot, but Bangladesh qualifying is certainly not impossible.
Bangladesh are coming off a convincing 62-run victory against Afghanistan at The Rose Bowl. Bangladesh batted first on what was quite a difficult wicket to score on, which saw them finish 7 for 262 after 50 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahim was superb with the bat, as he compiled 83 runs from 87 deliveries. Shakib Al Hasan also made a half-century.
Afghanistan were bowled out for 200, mainly thanks to the efforts of Al Hasan with the ball in hand. He finished with figures of 5-29 off his 10 overs, and he showed why many regard him as the best all-rounder in the world.
As for India, after seven games, they have accumulated five wins. They will feature in the knockout stage of the 2019 World Cup, and one more win will make sure that is the case.
However, they are coming off a 31-run loss to England, which took place at Edgbaston. India have been terrific in the World Cup thus far, but this defeat will not please Virat Kohli in the slightest.
England made a monstrous 7-337 off 50 overs to begin the game. Mohammed Shami did his best to drag his side back into the game, as he finished with figures of 5-69 off his 10 overs, but the total was always going to be difficult to chase.
When it came to the chase, Rohit Sharma compiled 102 runs from 109 balls, but it was not enough to get his side over the line. India finished 5-306 from their 50 overs.
Prediction
Bangladesh have been very competitive in this World Cup, but India will ultimately have too much quality for them.
India to prevail.

India have secured their spot in the knockout stage of the 2019 World Cup by defeating Bangladesh by 28 runs at Edgbaston. India won the toss and elected to bat first, which proved to be the correct decision, as they finished up 9-314 after 50 overs. Rohit Sharma set the tone for India, as the opener compiled 104 runs from 92 balls. Lokesh Rahul was also good at the top of the order, as he finished with 77 runs from 92 deliveries. Rishabh Pant propelled the innings forward with a quick-fire 48 runs from 41 balls. Mustafizur Rahman was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers, as he finished with figures of 5-59 off his 10 overs. Bangladesh were brave in the chase. Shakib Al Hasan continued his superb form, as he finished with 66 runs from 74 deliveries. Mohammad Saifuddin was also terrific with the bat, as he finished 51 not out from 38 balls. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya took seven wickets between them, which ultimately meant Bangladesh were bowled out for 286 in 48 overs. The defeat means Bangladesh will not qualify for the knockout stage of the 2019 World Cup. India – 9/314 (50 overs) Bangladesh – 286 (48 overs)
