The BBL finals begin with the Eliminator as the Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers do battle. Join The Roar from 7:15pm (AEDT) for live scores of the match.
The Heat started the season off in poor form, losing four of their first five matches, but they come into the finals series with a head of steam. They’ve won six of their last nine matches and will look to make the most of their first finals appearance in four years.
The Strikers, on the other hand, managed to sneak into the last finals spot thanks to Hobart’s shock loss to the Melbourne Renegades and have struggled for consistency in BBL10 – never winning more than two matches in a row.
One thing in the visitors’ favour, however, is the fact they won both meetings during the regular season. The Strikers got up by two runs at the Gabba, before winning by a whopping 82 runs in their most recent meeting in Adelaide.
First ball: 7:15pm (AEDT)
Venue: The Gabba, Brisbane
TV: Channel Seven, Fox Cricket
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel

Pretty sure it was Burns again. As an ex Adelaide boy the Strikers were very disappointing - still can't believe Travis Head is going to SA - one of the most frustrating batsmen to watch - when he is off he can barely hit the ball. Head and Carey chewed up far too many balls last night. Should be a cracker at Manuka tonight if it goes ahead. Rain seems to have gone for now.

Wasn't the Briggs drop Peirson?
Tom
Take the BBL speed guns with a grain of salt. One had AJ Tye bowling at 151 the other night and Neser bowling close to 147. Neither bowl anywhere near that.

That is why I think Jimmy Pierson should have been selected in either the test team or T20 Australian squad.

Two chances actually - one straight to Weatherald at first slip when Burns had barely got off the mark and another straight to Briggs at deep gully.

Thank God that’s over – the Strikers are a pretty ordinary team – three dropped catches cost them dearly. 130 was never going to be enough. Couldn’t really see either of these two teams threatening the top 3. But impressed with Peirson with the bat again. He’s dug the Heat out of a hole time and time again this season.

Well done Heat, despite the terrible early batting...(the Striker's regularly dropping catches didn't hurt)

I have no idea how the Heat made their way into the finals. Obviously the test boys helped. They seem to dominate in recent games and then make it hard. Great win, happy for them but can't see them going much further.

Burns gets his one chance. He'll bring it home now.

IftThe Strikers still had Rashid Khan, they would be all over this.

Siddle needs to come back on – they need another wicket Pressure coming off with Head bowling

Rubbish bowling from Wes Agar - deserved to be slogged

In Punter's team of the BBL no less.

Jeez -this O'Connor is rubbish - Carey should be applying the foot to the throat here - keeping his good bowlers on looking for more wickets - the Strikers need to bowl the Heat out - the game could get away if he doesn't

I reckon he’s got better in the short form as he’s got older – very smart bowler – bit like Ben Laughlin – but Laughlin looks as though he lacks a bit of zip this season
