Saturday night’s double-header of BBL action continues with the Perth Scorchers up against the Brisbane Heat, coming live from Optus Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 9:30pm AEDT.
Mitch Marsh is back… in the orange! It might not be for long because the all-rounder has been included in the Australian one-day squad, but Perth fans will hope he can fire for the Scorchers on Saturday night first.
Fast-bowler Matt Kelly has also been included in the squad, with the Perth pitch more suited to pace bowlers.
A heartbreakingly close loss for the Scorchers on Thursday night will be difficult to swallow, but a run of home games in front of the loud Perth crowd will hopefully inspire a win or two.
The winless Brisbane Heat are struggling again this season, but a win on the road could give their campaign the jump start it needs.
A great effort from Chris Lynn with the bat (84 off 55) couldn’t even get the Heat across the line on Tuesday, with the Sixers chasing down 164 at Metricon.
Matt Renshaw is in the Brisbane Heat squad and could play his first game of the season – and second-ever game of BBL – if included in the side.
Sam Heazlett has been omitted from the travelling squad; his poor start to the season has included small scores of two, zero and two.
Prediction
A stint at home will definitely help the struggling Perth Scorchers, and they should get their second win of the season against the Brisbane Heat on Saturday night.

Thanks for tuning in this evening and following The Roar's coverage of tonights BBL double-header. Plenty of cricket coming at you tomorrow with Day 4 of the test and Strikers vs Sixers, and I'll be back when the Aus vs India ODI's kick off next Saturday.

Scorchers are an absolute joke! Adam Vogues is out of his depth as coach, surprised he was next in line for JL's job. Also, have a look at their poor Shield form.

BRISBANE HEAT WIN BY 5 WICKETS! Cutting was slipping all over the place, but in the eighteenth over just decided to stand and deliver. [.6.446] was the over by Richardson that destroyed the Scorchers chances. Lynn got 33 off 34 balls, Cutting 26* off 16, a brilliant batting display at the end there by Cutting to close out the Heat's first win for BBL|08. Coulter-Nile took 3 but wasn't enough to help his side to a win. Scorchers 6/135 Heat 5/139

I don't think the Scorchers are bowler heavy. Just missing that power hitter.

Cutting cool as ice!! Scortchers still haven’t learnt. They needs to realize they are a batsmen short and too bowler heavy.

FOUR there again and then a SIX to finish that VERY expensive over from Richardson. Brilliant hitting by Cutting but my gosh he looks in some kind of pain. Overs 18 Heat 5/135

Game over. It looked like we were really in it, but 4 or 5 balls did it. And why was Richardson bowling that over. Tye for this one and then Agar off the last one.
