I've seen the same thing happen in the Super 18 or whatever it's called. I don't like it either. It should be primarily on wins.
---------
In other areas of life that happens too. People on bonuses still get their bonuses despite running a company into less than stellar performance / productivity.
That's what l was alluding to. It was not in his entire control as the ground had interfered with the catching process.
-------
It went without saying. Or at least l thought it did.
I don't like the bonus points format. It rewards inconsistent teams like the Strikers with w/l 6/8 only there due to 10 bonus points. Stars w/l 7/7 5 bonus points. Yeah, I don't like the strikers.
Well Fuzzy caught it but he'd run out of air between the ball and the turf by the time he took it.
Strange decision from the third ump. Sometimes in these circs I think they umpire for each other.
Perhaps it's time to review the reviews?
Still a long way from the worst Khawaja has got from the 3rd ump.
In the early days of DRS in the 2013 ashes, missed a big turner.
The on field ump, perhaps understandably, gave him out.
Khawaja immediately reviewed.
Replay after replay showed Khawaja missing the ball, no hot spot, no noise, yet Dharmasena upheld the appeal.
How anyone could consider that to be a catch is beyond me, but in this era of redefining just about everything and anything to suit the narrative, it appears the definition of the word catch will now read ," and it is irrelevant if the ball comes into contact with the ground and hands simultaneously".

I think everyone bar the Strikers and the 3rd ump thought so

It doesn't matter if it's under their control or not if it hits the ground though.

Yes, the ball was not in entire control of the alleged catcher. I agree. Not out

Yeah the 3rd umpire's interpretation was "as long as he got a finger mainly under it it's ok, even it smashed the ground as well".

Looks like the 3rd umpire is the only one who thought it was out. Sure Fawad got a finger under it, but it also smashed into the ground. So not out.
