WATCH: Peter Bol's classy post-race interview after finishing fourth

By The Roar / Editor

For the first time since 1968 Australia had an athlete in the men’s 800m final and Peter Bol wanted to make the most of it.

Bol twice broke the Oceania record on the way to the final and he knew he needed to break his own record again to have a chance of gold.

But the Australian wasn’t helped by his competitors with none willing to go out fast. Bol was left to do all the work at the start of the second lap and it proved too much.

His energy ran out in the last 100m and he ended up fourth.

While Bol was clearly disappointed his post-race interview was all class and he was clearly emotional seeing all his family watching from back home in Perth.
