This is why Cameron Smith is in the Don Bradman, Michael Jordan category of his sport. In the Rugby League world his IQ is unsurpassed, his passing up with the best, his defence up with the most effective ever, consistency on all things the best. Desire to compete unmatched. Cotric is a 21 year old 100kg tackle busting, try scorer winger getting stopped by a 37year old hooker with a shoulder injury who has just chased 60m stopped turned and with a low 1 on 1 copy book tackle 2m from the try line out muscled Cotric and forced an error under pressure. In the 66min leading by 20? No one has ever played as much football in the middle of the park and does this. Smith continues to do this and get the better of his opposition in the clutch moment. He is no where near done. He’s immortal.

To borrow from 'Casablanca' Nick Cotric must have been thinking "of all the defenders in my path why did one have to be Smithy" Similar thoughts would have run through the minds of thousands of attackers when playing The Storm with Cameron Smith in the '#9' I have always regarded Noel Kelly as the best ever hooker, but Cameron Smith is something else. He is the greatest all round Rugby League player in my lifetime. A montage of Cam Smith's try saving tackles could develop into a feature length movie. Further as a future coaching tool, covering every aspect of the game, 'how Smithy did it' could serve as an educational adventure for the betterment of the code. Yes, there will need to be some editing for the 'wrestling' era. The good Smithy can do for League far outweighs that debit.

As much as I really hate Cameron Smith, you have to accept that he is the greatest winner ever to play the game. He has an obvious personality disorder, whereby he will push every boundary to win. But what a player. It's just a shame that he wasn't a Raider born in NSW. But he is the greatest player of all time. I can't deny him that.
