The only other option was a limited value 'Hail Mary' which, based on the way they played, I'm sure QLD would have been able to defend.

The 2 was the right call. In other circumstances he could have kicked it, doesn't always fall your way. Was close.

It was a terrible (but great) decision. That whole scenario was set up to give NSW the win and sweep. Granted Qld's defence was pretty but not only does the shot take the foot off the throat and go for the draw exposed a soft under belly.
