The Crusaders have kept their perfect record in season 2019 alive with a dominant 29-point victory over the Chiefs.

Just a week after losing to the lowly Sunwolves, the Chiefs face the biggest test in Super Rugby when they travel to play the Crusaders. Join The Roar for live scores from the match, starting from 3:15pm AEDT.
Fair to say that these two sides have had rather different fortunes so far in Super Rugby season 2019.
Both played close-fought matches in Round 1 – the Chiefs going down by just three points to the Highlanders in the season opener, while the Crusaders scraped by with a two-point win over the Blues in their first match of the year.
Things have been quite different in the time since – the ‘Saders went on to comfortable wins over the Hurricanes and the Reds in the last fortnight, while the Chiefs have gone rapidly downhill.
They were smashed 17-54 by the Brumbies in Round 2 but what would have really struck fans with disbelief was last week’s dismal performance against the Sunwolves, losing 15-30.
They are one of only three teams in the comp to not have managed a win to date, and they also have the worst points differential in the competition at -55.
Prediction
It’s hard to see this being anything other than a comfortable win for the Crusaders.

Saw Rodda get penalised for it in Reds game, other than that I don't see it get pick up enough. Crusaders and All Blacks are very smart teams and will try to get away with whatever than can, good on them. As a player and fan of the sport I would like to see the refs police the laws correctly though. Unfortunately the ruck is not black and white and unless the ref had played in the forwards they probably won't understand it fully.

Uh-oh.....I don't think anyone in the Chiefs has the capability to turn the lights back on atm. It is looking like one very long and dark season ahead for Coops and the team.

It’s up to the ref to stop it. If the ref allows it, do it. Although what’s the reason refs arnt pulling them up the Crusaders and ABs often for this? Rugby laws are like Tax laws, if you arnt doing everything to get around them then your doing it wrong. Maybe the other teams are doing it too and this is an area of leniency the refs are allowing. That seems to be an easier explanation, especially as I have seen a number of teams doing this, not just the Crusaders and ABs.

May have made the game tighter, but would still have been one sided. Something is just not right with the Chiefs this year.

An we all just agree that DMac is not a fly half? Fullback is a much better fit for him, but just seemed out of ideas in this one. And yes, I know it’s the ‘sanders etc etc, but if he is the back up 10 come RWC time, I have grave fears and can only hope everyone is injured and we have to call up Beaver again. BB for starts, Moanga for back up (although my real preference is the reverse), and any number of backs who have put their hand up ALOT higher than DMac has this year.

What the hell is going on with the Chiefs, unstructured, simple mistakes, bad options, no confidence n the squad is not terrible.....just awfully coached. The game was over by halftime.

Well he's confused then. Coaches should steer him back to fullback.
