It’s a showdown between expansion sides as Macarthur FC and Western United do battle at Campbelltown Stadium. Stay up to date with their A-League clash with live scores on The Roar from 5:05pm (AEDT).
Reality is starting to catch up with the early-season surprise packets. Macarthur were within striking distance of first place not too long ago, but now find themselves in sixth and, with teams below them having games in hand – at very real risk of falling out of a finals place by the end of the weekend.
One side nipping at their heels is expansion rival Western United, who enter the round three points behind the Bulls but with two games in hand. They got past the ice cold Brisbane Roar last week to put themselves in a position to pounce on sixth spot should they get past Macarthur this evening.
Kick-off time: 5:05pm (AEDT)
Venue: Campbelltown Stadium
TV: ABC, Fox Sports
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go, MyFootball Live app
Betting: Macarthur $2.04, Western United $3.20, draw $3.70 (odds via PlayUp)

Another great cross and good header. 2-1 at half time is a deserved lead.

Yeah, Bankwest is closest to a high-end stadium (especially for corporate seating too, which is where the big bucks are). It’s in an ideal area too.

Poor Bozza is calling from the wet sidelines in a suit. You can almost hear his sodden toupee flapping in the wind. The Bullpen are brave lads. Onya Campbelltown!

Bankwest is now our only premium stadium. ANZ is too big and not good for viewing football. When Allianz is finished later next year it will be very good. But you are correct - we need more stadiums with grandstands that actually keep you dry.

1st year in the comp and they've now had 4 home games. 2 have had large amounts of rain, a third was wet - only one with good weather. It's been hard for them to gain momentum in terms of support. Congratulations to those braving the conditions. I have a 6 game membership but I'll watch this one on Kayo.

The wet fans are naturally huddled towards the back of the stands, hiding under limited cover. Compared to Melbourne, I don’t believe Sydney has a world-class stadium. Yes, the Harbour City has scenic, historic & loved stadiums, but on sodden afternoons like this, you’re gonna git whet!
