Sydney FC host Central Coast Mariners from Leichardt Oval in the final match of Round 19. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 5pm (AEDT).

Sydney were left rather embarrassed after losing to Brisbane last round, and will be very keen to vent some rage against the hapless Mariners.

Last week saw the Mariners play against the similarly embattled Wanderers, but even against a weakened squad they proved unable to be any sort of threat.

Luke Ivanovic could return for Sydney. The youngster was battered around in his starting debut a few weeks ago, but his 30 or so minutes on the park looked very promising indeed.

Sydney will be without Danny De Silva, with the league’s loan rules not allowing loaned players to feature against their parent club.

Ones to watch for CCM are their Sheffield loanees – Sam Graham and Stephen Mallon.

Defender Graham played all 90 minutes last week, and while the team conceded two goals, he did very well to keep Oriol Riera and then Mitch Duke quiet.

He will have another key job to do on fellow country-man Adam Le Fondre. Mallon will be hoping for more match time after a relatively low key 20 minutes last time out.

The Mariners are only without Kye Rowles who misses with suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

Prediction
Sydney have been quite wasteful in recent weeks. Central Coast have been quite leaky. Even if Sydney spurn some chances, they should still have enough opportunities to score.

Sydney FC 3 – 0 Central Coast Mariners

Steve Corica and his troops are pretenders these days, what a joke two weeks in a row they cant beat teams who are last in league. My bet is Glory and Victory above the rest and as for my team Sydney FC they should get some players from W league team like McCkill, Foord, and Kennedy to replace aging Wilkinson, Milos Ninkovic and Brillante. They also missed on Rudan as Coach, days are numbered for Corica, after 8 years as assistant cant prove anything. For Sydney FC to succeed in future after this season they should get rid of above player listed with Jon Van Linden and Siem Jong, top dollars players not good enough, they should learn from Castro, Troisi and Terry Antonis as for Corica bye bye and see u later...…………..as a fan.

Match review: It was said in the preview that Sydney have been wasteful in front of goal, and that is how this one played out. The first 20 minutes were very cagey, with neither side really challenging in attack. Tommy Oar went down clutching his knee after he jumped innocuously for the ball. Nearby Sydney players were quick to yell for the physio, but Oar walked off unaided. This was to be the end of Oar’s night as he was replaced by Matt Millar. Sydney were the first team to bite in attack, as they created a few half chances. But it was the Mariners who opened the scoring. CCM earned themselves a corner, which initially was dealt with by Sydney’s defence. But the rebound fell to the feet of Aiden O’Neill who took advantage of the traffic still in the box from the corner, and stroked it past a blindsided Andrew Redmayne in to the bottom corner. The score at half time was 1-0 to CCM. The second half was more open than the first. Sydney making a lot more of the chances. Milos Ninkovic, Adam Le Fondre, Brandon O’Neill and Reza Ghoochannejhad all missed chances that on another day they would have taken comfortably. CCM were setting numbers up behind the ball, happy with the 1-0 scoreline. Sam Graham, Jack Clisby and Jonathan Aspropotimitis were proving unbeatable in the air. Sydney finally scored with 15 minutes to go after Alex Brosque was brought down – let it be said, very easily – by Jem Karacan in the box. Le Fondre stepped up and converted the penalty. Sydney would be the only team to attack in the final 10 minutes, but CCM were able to hold on. Final score Sydney 1 – 1 Central Coast.

SFC conspiracy aside. Karacan does have a hold of Brosque’s arm, so VAR is never going to overrule that. But Brosque goes down way way way easy. No doubt the line that is trotted out in the week will be “It looked like there was contact from the referee’s point of view.”

Well that was a lot closer than it needed to be. Again Sydney were wasteful. But CCM took the one chance they had. The score at full time is Sydney 1-1 CCM The Roar will be back next week with round 20 of the A-League. Review for this match, up soon.

Loss to Brisbane followed by a draw with CCM. Obviously Corica doesn't exert as much "influence" as Arnie.

Thank God CCM held on there. 9 points clear on top baby!!!!!!!!!! Now we what for Karlo Tyschen talking points, coming up in 30 seconds. What a missed opportunity for Adelaide too. If they won last night they would have been 3 points of Sydney and 4 of Victory.
