Sydney FC will be out to pick up momentum in a potential grand final preview when they take on certain minor premiers, the Perth Glory in Round 26 A-League action. Join The Roar for live scores of the match, starting from 7:50pm (AEDT).

The Sky Blues come into this match in somewhat frustrating form, after picking up draws in each of their last two matches, when, arguably, they were the better team each time.

In the first of those – an ACL match at Kogarah, the same venue as this evening – they were up three separate times against Shanghai SIPG, but still managed to squander the chance to take all three points, then were held to one-all on Saturday evening against the Western Sydney Wanderers in the Sydney derby at Homebush.

Before that though, they had picked up back-to-back victories over the Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory, with the club currently sitting in second on the ladder.

With two rounds to go, they could still lose their grasp on that all-important week off, so this is a crucial contest against a club who have been the runaway leaders all year and already have the minor premiership wrapped up.

The visitors have been in fine form though, and after rolling past the Central Coast Mariners and Newcastle Jets in the last two weeks to make it three wins in their last four matches, they are showing no signs of slowing down with the finals just weeks away.

The Glory’s attack has been particularly impressive throughout the season, and if that continues, they might have Sydney’s number, given defensive issues is what has left them with draws, rather than victories in their last two matches as a club across the two competitions.

Their biggest issue here will be continuing at full speed ahead, rather than taking a foot off the gas and simply knowing they have qualified at the top of the table.

Prediction
If the Sky Blues can take advantage of any lapse in concentration from Perth and get their defence right, then they should win this game reasonably comfortably.

Tough to say about the minor premiers, given the season they have put together, but this might be the loss they need to have before the finals get underway in a couple of weeks.

Sydney 2 – Perth 1.

I wouldn't be too nervous for finals if I was you. You basically played your second team and it was still a hard win for us.

Well that's annoying. We were 1 win away from an undefeated away season. Makes me nervous for finals. So Victory need to win in the joke derby tommorow or they won't make the top 2. Go Glory! AND COME ON YOU SPURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
