The Western Sydney Wanderers have nothing left but pride to play for when the host Sydney FC in the third and final Sydney Derby of the 2018-19 A-League season. Join The Roar for live scores from the match and a live blog of the game in Round 25 on Saturday night at ANZ Stadium, starting from 7:50pm AEST.

With just a few more weeks of home-and-away football to be played this season, the clock has officially struck ‘too late’ for the Wanderers.

As the table stands they have only six wins to their name for the season, and even if they won every match left on their ledger they’d still fall well short of the top six.

That top six looks pretty much set at this stage, with Melbourne City in sixth a comfortable stretch ahead of the next-best sides, and all that remains is to jostle for spots.

That’s why this encounter is so much more crucial for their opponents, Sydney FC, who could seriously strengthen their hold on second place with a win tonight.

The Sky Blues are six points behind the Glory in first and while a win here would keep the pressure on Perth, more importantly it’ll create distance between them and Melbourne Victory.

A 2-1 win in last week’s Big Blue has given Sydney a four-point buffer on the table, and if they can take home all three points tonight it’ll make them near impossible to catch.

1-1, fulltime. Sydney FC slightly better in the first half, Western Sydney clear standouts in the second stanza. What a tough, frenetic, passionate derby.
