Astra Sharma has held on to defeat the tiring Priscilla Hon to open her Australian Open campaign for 2019. It was a hard fought victory in which Hon threw the first away after failing to capitalise on a number of chances. She did bounce back well in the second and survived a long game at 5-4 when serving for the set. The decider was a walk in the park for Sharma, as Hon appeared to fatigue and she called for medical attention late in the match.
