British tennis player fires back at journalist for 'patronising' question in heated exchange

British tennis player, Johanna Konta, wasn’t impressed with what she deemed as harsh questioning by one journalist during her Wimbledon press conference.

After leading 4-1 in the first set of the quarter-final against Barbora Strycova, Konta ended up losing in straight sets – 6-7(5), 1-6. The capitulation sparked criticism regarding her ability to handle the tougher moments during matches.

Konta needs to toughen up. In successive grand slam tournaments she has let slip leads against lower ranked opponents who she was expected to beat. She doesn't appear to react well to pressure on the court and she struggles with it off the court. She has previously blamed journalists for bringing up her poor record (prior to this year) at the French Open. She is British and the British media are going to question her performances, especially around the time of Wimbledon each year. She either has to deal with that or find something else to do.
