Tomic and Kyrios have had their time! Time to move on and frankly good riddance. TA enabled and entitled both. Hewitt, was an entitled brat, with arrogant parents as a player going through the ranks..and still TA entitle him.
It's hard to believe Hewitt would go down the path of corruption for a few bob given how wealthy he is. What would be his motivation?
Simply doesn't make sense.
Tomic didnt like Rafter either. So its not a Hewitt thing its more about Tomic not being a team person or someone who doesnt like discipline.
As for the blackmail its probably more like when they (the family) told Tennis Australia Bernie wouldnt play unless his sister was given money.
The players handed wildcards have no connection to Hewitt's management team.
Just another Tomic lie.
Tomic is 26, lived a lavish lifestyle and likely to have frittered most of it away, hasn't made much money in recent years, will never be a better player than he is right now, hates playing tennis, clearly is mentally ill.
I don't see this ending well for Tomic.
There seems to be a lot of murmurings about Hewitt somehow favouring players over others. Tomic's latest outbursts say that is in the form of handing out wildcards and Davis Cup selection. But what nobody can explain is how is that incorrect? He's the Davis Cup captain and, frankly, a living legend of Australian tennis, so why shouldn't he have a say on who he selects? If he says, he believes in de Minaur and believes he will do Australia proud, isn't that opinion alone enough? What would be shocking would be if there's another player who is a far better player than de Minaur and does not get selected for some untoward reason, but from what we can see there is none of that. Clearly Tomic can't be serious in saying that is in fact the case in the case of himself, Kokkinakis and Kyrgios. They've all been given plenty of chances, and in the case of Kokkinakis, he simply can't play because of his frail body.
Point noted - yet I draw on Hewitt's comprehensive denial that he earns a quid off the other players. The only conflict of interest here seems to be Hewitt's interest in giving hard workers a go conflicting with Tomic's interest in not working too hard.
I'm completely comfortable with Tomic not playing David Cup. But I also have lingering questions about Hewitt - seems to be a pattern here, his spectacular bust up with former Crow Andrew McLeod. Tomic and Kyrios are both complete oxygen thieves ("Damage" and "Havoc" could be their new nicknames!), but just because they are lazy and stupid doesn't make their claims about Hewitt's conflicts of interest any less valid, and they warrant closer inspection (by someone independent of TA).
I don't know Hewitt but if there's even a shred of truth about his statements here (and I don't doubt there is) then it's time to deal with Tomic the right way - hand it over to the lawyers and don't let him upset more of your life. You can't let a guy like that go around creating damage and havoc.
