Is James Hird coming back to Essendon to end our misery? That is the question on every Bomber fans lips. He certainly has the credentials, but as we all know, great players are not necessarily great coaches.
He has said he wants to coach Essendon at some point, but the question remains, if asked, will he take over now?
My opinion is he would do it if they approach him. But I don’t think it’s the right time for him to become senior coach. Ideally, he will become Assistant to Williams for one or two years and then take over.
