Brisbane Lions vs North Melbourne: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

Both Brisbane Lions and North Melbourne will be looking to build on Round 15 wins when they meet at the Gabba tonight. We’ll have live scores from 7.40pm AEST.

The Kangaroos’ 62-point win over Richmond last Saturday was the kind of win that could turn around what has so far been a disappointing season for Brad Scott’s men.

Currently in tenth position on the AFL ladder at 6-8, North could move within a win of eighth-placed Port Adelaide after their loss to Hawthorn earlier this afternoon.

They travel to Queensland with an unchanged 22 from the win over the Tigers, with Scott opting not to bring in Scott McMahon despite his return to fitness.

The Lions continued their dominance of local rivals Gold Coast with a 33-point win last Saturday night.

It continued what has been an improved month since the Lions’ Round 11 bye, with wins against the Cats and Suns and losses to top four sides Hawthorn and Fremantle.

But with only five wins for the season, finals football still looks out of reach for Michael Voss’ side unless they can start stringing consecutive wins together – something they haven’t been able to do all season.

Voss had made just one change to the side that defeated the Suns, with James Polkinghorne replacing the injured Brent Moloney.

North have held a clear advantage over the Lions in recent seasons, having won four of their past five matchups, including a 63-point win in Round 4 earlier this year.

They’ll go into this one expecting to come away with another four points in their march toward September, but against an unpredictable Lions side they will need to display the form that saw them beat Richmond.

Can the Kangas keep their finals hopes alive? Find out from 7.40pm AEST.

So, Greg Norman and/or Colin Montgomery are on the North Melbourne Choking staff, sorry coaching staff after all. North are where they deserve to be , nowhere near the top 8.
