St George Illawarra Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors: NRL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

St George Illawarra welcome the New Zealand Warriors to Win Jubilee Stadium in what is a crucial match for both parties. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:30pm AEST this evening, and join the banter below in the comments.

Despite having completely opposite starts to what was expected, the NRL ladder is so congested that a win for the Warriors here will see them move level with the Dragons on three wins.

At the start of the year, the Dragons had been written off by many, while the Warriors were expected to build their impressive squad under Matt Elliott into a finals threat.

The best laid plans. Matt Elliott’s gone. The Warriors sit on just two wins, 14th on the ladder. They are coming off back-to-back losses.

But the Dragons, after topping the ladder, undefeated, after three rounds have lost three in a row and face the prospect of falling into anonymity.

The biggest out for the Warriors is damaging backrower Ben Matulino, who misses due to both a shoulder injury and suspension. Giant centre Konrad Hurrel is also out this week.

The Dragons are as close to full strength as any NRL club would ever hope to be in the seventh round, with fullback Josh Dugan really finding his stride at the club.

Both teams will be desperate to bounce back from heartbreaking losses last week.

The Warriors succumbed to the field goal experts, the Bulldogs, who incidentally sunk the Rabbitohs last night with yet another.

The Dragons lost another to the Storm in extremely controversial fashion. Referees boss Tony Archer admitted that a mistake had been made after the refs allowed the play to continue after the siren. Dragons coach Steve Price was rightly filthy, saying repeatedly that his team was much, much better on the night.

They will need to overcome these mental blows if they are to beat an always-dangerous Warriors side tonight.

Join us from 5:30pm AEST for all the scores, and comment on the game below.

Seriously! How useless are the Warriors? The roster they have! Elliott gone, spare parts coach in for season and then Wigan coach for next year. Why didn't they give the job to Tony Iro? Won a premiership with Holden Cup Warriors in 2011, players all wanted him for 2012. Am I missing something?

And nightingale makes a break down the left side beating 3 warriors defenders and whets this? PAUL GALLEN comes out of absolutely nowhere to smash him head on, ball comes loose and it Darren Lockyer scooping it up, he throws the ball across field to Thurston who chips over Israel Folau, GI gathers the chip and palms Justin Bieber right in throat sending him into the nosebleeds of ANZ stadium. He's taken by 7 collingwood magpies supporters who have a collective of 19 teeth between them but he gets the offload away to Mal Meninga before they can finish the tackle. Big Mal flicks the ball inside to joey johns who kicks across field for JHARAL YOWYEH TO TAKE AN ABSOLUTE SCREAMER!!!! THAT'S NOT A TRY THAT'S A MIRACLE!!!

They went upstairs for Nightingale's try. The touchie was on the spot and immediately signalled that the try was OK. Why refer it?
