By The Roar / Editor

Injured Australian captain Michael Clarke is providing fans with some rare insight into his mid-play thoughts, taking to Twitter during the first day of the second Test in Brisbane.

Clarke is currently recovering from surgery he underwent on Tuesday to repair the hamstring he injured during the first Test in Adelaide.

The injury threatens to keep Clarke sidelined into the 2015 ODI World Cup which kicks off in mid-February. So with potentially a lengthy stint on the sidelines ahead, Clarke appears to be dabbling in commentary.

Usually his thoughts are reserved for those in earshot while he’s in the field, but thanks to social media, the public has been gifted some extra insight.

You can follow Michael Clarke on Twitter and keep up to date with all his musings.

And the heavy tweeting did not go unnoticed.

How is it any different the Ch. 9 commentary? Messrs Taylor, Chappell are prime examples of the , "Well what I would do..." school of thought.

Captaincy by remote control? Under the circumstances, I would not have expected Clarke to comment publicly, as interesting as his tweets are. Still 25 overs to go. Real pressure on Steve Smith.
