[VIDEO] Adelaide Strikers vs Perth Scorchers highlights: Big Bash League scores

By The Roar / Editor

The high-flying Adelaide Strikers host the Perth Scorchers for a top of the table Big Bash League clash at Adelaide Oval tonight. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:10pm (AEDT).

The Strikers are proving the form side in this year’s competition, boasting the title of the last undefeated side, having gone four wins from four games so far.

The Scorchers have had an up and down start to the season, but thanks to some tight results, find themselves on the top of the ladder log-jam that currently stretches from third place to sixth.

A win tonight would see them sneak into second place, just a game shy of the Strikers.

The Strikers will suffer from the loss of their lumbering Trinidadian, Kieron Pollard, who is returning home to prepare for international duties.

They will also be without the experience of Brad Hodge who is sidelined with a broken arm.

On the up-side, they regain strike paceman Shaun Tait. Fans will be hoping his radar is on and that he can have an impact on the Scorchers’ top order tonight.

The visitors will be boosted by the return of fan favourite Brad Hogg – the crafty spinner is still full of beans at 44 years of age and will be hungry for some wickets.

The home side start the game as deserved favourites, but last season’s champs are sure to be no easy beats.

Prediction:
The return of Tait just won’t be enough to compensate for the loss of quality the Strikers have suffered leading into this game.

If Hogg can snag a wicket or two, the Scorchers will fire up and get on top.

The Scorchers to hand the Strikers their first loss of BBL04.

I heard Paris had another setback, NCN still a ways off, and M.Marsh still on track to be back shortly.

Apparently Mitch Marsh might be back in a couple of weeks. Haven't heard where Paris is at which is a pity, was very good in the Matador Cup.

Strikers are gone. Scorchers know how to defend a total. I hope Australia picks a leg spinner for the world cup.

This Adelaide pitch has been good for the spinners, Zampa, Agar and that youngster, Hogg.

1 Thing is clear - If Australia require a wrist spinner or a spinner of any kind really for the world cup and hell the Ashes their is only 1 man Bradley George Hogg.

Why is the live blog now a dead blog? And has the live score update been taught how to deal with a super over? The roar has been flawless with the tests but last night's and tonight's bbl's seem to have gone a bit... Maxwell?
