Wests Tigers fan, sporting fanatic, "be happy because the other options suck"

Isn’t the problem with politics that Penrith said they worked long and hard for their funding – I’m not sure why working hard asking for it should have any influence over where my tax $$ are spent. I mean what if drug lords work long and hard asking the government for $300m should they get it too. I mean If all it takes for $300m is to ask long and hard then I’ll give up work and ask long and hard for $300m of my own.

'I don't have spare dollars': Death sentence for Leichhardt as NSW Premier rejects Tigers' reno plans

My thoughts are that Neser has been picked not just as a back up the bowlers but also a back up for Mitch Marsh and Cam Green as all rounder replacement should either go down.

Neser selection doesn’t matter much now to Test team but it slows down fast bowler development for the future

I know it might not be a popular opinion here but the end of the Rebels seems to have almost only upsides for Rugby as a sport in Australia

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

Apogies missed Inglis. Won a grand final at 5/8, played for Australia at centre, wing, fullback.

Nearly Immortals: The best of the rest

Fittler, Lockyer, Lazarus the next 3 and then Cam Smith with Billy Slater and Thurston prob the 3 from the more recent times.

Brad Clyde, Kenny and Sterling unlucky

Nearly Immortals: The best of the rest

If you have Mullins, Belcher, Bowen, etc in fullback then all were behind Brasher and Garry Jack

Nearly Immortals: The best of the rest

Madge was the first one to do this at South’s – where won the premiership.

Five captains not better than one: Tigers fall for illusion of shared leadership model

Totally disagree. If a board member speaks out publicly against the boards decision then they no longer have a place on that board. You argue your case in the boardroom then once the decision is made you either support it publicly or leave the board

'They played for Bankstown 4ths': Should cricket's power brokers have played at highest level?

The gimmicks are fine, the lack of covid crowds is a one off thats hurting them but the real issue is a lack of star power both locally and internationally. It needs stars – big name players who can talk a good game and play a good game with signifcant int careers.

Dear CA, what were you thinking?

So man Rugby articles and so many bad structure ideas. Remind me to ask in future when im interviewing people to ask them to describe the best structure for Australian Rugby it should make it much easier to knock off candidates

A win-win rugby calendar for Australia and Japan… including weight-restricted Tests?

Burke at fullback with Roff and Lote in the wings is the best for mine.

Pick the greatest Wallabies team of the Super Rugby era: Outside backs

This article is heading in the right direction. Until Rugby in Australia stops being for the benefit of NZ and SA its going nowhwre. Leave test Rugby for international competition and a domestic comp of 14 rounds

My blueprint for Australia's rugby calendar

Yep same 3 for me – fairly clear front runners imo

Pick the greatest Wallabies team of the Super Rugby era: Front row

Dont disagree – you play 45 tests you should at least be an option on the list

Pick the greatest Wallabies team of the Super Rugby era: Front row

They have recieved 58% already as full pay Nov- May meaning they will get 22% of their annual wage in the last 5 months as opposed to 42% so effectively a 48% pay cut for the rest of the year but 80% is right across the yr if their total pay. So agree the article is way wrong

NRL players agree to hefty pay cut for the rest of the season

Yes that is what I’m suggesting – domestic competitions are what domestic audiences want. THe champions league style playoff with the top 2 teams from each (perhaps more) would include some international component. Australian companies want every week exposure on Australian prime time and that needs a domestic competition. Pacific Island teams don’t make money but having pacific stars in each team builds those countries up, increases crowds and viewers and improves the value of those tests when we do play them. Perhaps longer term a Sydney Pacific based in Campbelltown for example would be added to the comp.
I also think thier is space for a 2 team Aussie series leading into tests to show the best – Country v City or North v South or just Wallabies vs Wallabies A every year to provide high level competition lead in.

Australian rugby: A blueprint for the future

Appreciate the effort but not the outcome. Personally id see a 2 round home and away season of just Australian based sides. 3 from NSW – 2 sydney, 1 country, 2 qld, brumbies, melbourne, perth. 14 rounds played from Feb – May but agree the Anzac test is a good idea. Start the year with a 7s tournament on Australia day weekend. Club Rugby to start in June when the wallabies start. The 8 teams will all be professional with 4 games each week- 2 on Sat night, 1 Sunday afternoon and 1 Monday night all to be on free to air to increase exposure to new supporters and also for sponsors and crowds. To increase international exposure and depth then each should have 5 players eligble for international teams focusing on countries which would increase appeal to overseas tv audiences. Home games should be as much as possibke for esch team be on a set day. Game day experience should be a focus to increase crowds.

Im a nationals voter and an ex Lib member and still think your a homophobe does that help

Reflecting on the legacy of Todd Greenberg

I love the ad and perhaps as a long term league follower who is striaght, white and from the bush Paul Kent might think I shouldn’t but how could you not. Now I already love NRL so whether I like the ad is neither here nor thier because ads arent to convert those who already love something. What it does do is aim at the mum’s who might be wanting thier kids to play, it also aims to win over the amazing young aborigional athletes who would have seen the Adam Goodes issue in AFL and be looking for a different option, it aims at the young people in thier teens and twenties who might be looking for somewhere to spend their hard earned entertainment $$ and for all of those groups its a winner.

New NRL ad is 'simply the best'

Personally I would bring Marsh in as a replacement for the 4th bowler. We are getting no bowling value out of our bowlers outside of Cummins and Strac so I say pick our best spinner which ever that be and then play Mitch Marsh at 8. Coulter Niles bowling isnt cutting it and history should tell everyone he has had his 1 great innings for this world cup perhaps ever so isn’t going to get another one. So the team becomes Finch, Warner, Kahwaja, Smith, Maxwell,S Marsh, A Carey, M Marsh, P Cummins, M Starc and A Zampa – so while in theory ur bowling gets a little worse the form of the other bowlers indicates it cant and your batting gets better and longer giving your batsment the opportunity to be more agressive and not leave all agression to Maxy

Five reasons Australia shouldn't play five bowlers

Typical Cowbpys response to this game – blame the ref, the blame the bounce of the ball, blame a magic finger but never ever consider that the club is at fault. They have a victim mentality and always have they just got lucky that JT could win the games despite it. Thier recruitment and retention has been very poor the last few years and Friday night they missed more then twice as many tackles as the oppostion and thats what cost them the game

A boring Friday night with four teams outside the eight? Yeah, right!

thing is the rule is quite clear that you opinion or mine doesen’t matter. The rule says in the opinion of the referee in this case the bunker the try would have been scored if not for the illegal play then its a try. by definition given the ref gave bunker gave a penatly try he was correct because obviously he thought it would be

A boring Friday night with four teams outside the eight? Yeah, right!

You have to feel sorry for Georgia. The reason the home nations don’t want to vote for this is because they are fairly sure one of them will be relegated for Georgia. I understand that from their point of view but you do wonder what then is the future for Georgia

World Rugby's Nations League proposal set to be knocked back

Maxwell just does better in general when Steve Smith isn’t captain. Obviously the 2 didn’t see eye to eye. It will be interesting to see what happens when Smith comes back because now Mazy is probably the senior and star player in the One Day line up imo and Smith down the order of seniority

Maxwell's bowling can shape Australia's World Cup campaign

Obviously he also went to the UAE so he has been in selectors mind and since coming back he has average 57 this year with the bat and 30 with the ball. I think he could bat at 7 if Paine was up to batting at 6 or you could throw him at 8 if injuries strike the top 3 quicks. I am a fan of what he brings if they are going to pick an all rounder for the Ashes I’d pick him

The forgotten man who could solve Australia’s all-rounder woes
