The Roar's Wallabies team of the week

By PeterK / Roar Guru

It’s back for the 2015 Rugby World Cup!

The Roar posters will get to score the form players each week and I will compile a Wallabies form team.

I will provide three form teams.

1 – A complete team that could take the field in any fixture. It must have a recognised goal kicker, players must be in their predominant position, a player calling lineouts must be selected (thought not necessarily at lock, ie Dave Dennis calls lineouts and plays at blindside).

2 – The best players selected in the good old Australian tradition of pick the best players and find a spot for them. A player is eligible for any position they have started in at Super or International rugby. Team does not have to have a kicker or line out caller.

3 – Recent form rules. It will be a complete team, as per one, but scores are weighted by their recency, since form at the end of the season before the Tests counts for more than early season games. I will publish this team from the third week onwards.

How it works.

On Mondays I will submit my scores in an article.

Roar posters will reply to this post with their own scores. I will compile the scores and submit the form team by Thursday.

The rules. Score players out of 10 (half scores allowed). Post scores for players who have excelled >= 7.5 and = 1 and >= 3.5/10. Do not post scores for a run of the mill performance, ie between 4 and 7.

This team seems too NSW-centric. Could you adjust it?

It is similar. The differences are that I rate every very good and poor performance. ALSO every roar contributor who wishes can send in any ratings for any aussie players. Does not have to be every game or every team. I compile the lot, so it is not just my team but a roar composite. Finally it is accumalitive so it is the season form team not the team of the week. I used to do that one as well but will not so WB may continue that each week. At the end of the season it should show who the form team by all their performances as rated by roar contributors. If I am the only contributor then it will of course be the form team as I saw it. I want contributors across all teams (but of course not 10's to every player in your favourite team).

Can't wait for the season to kick off.! So we can talk about some rugby for once & put the whole Di Patson saga behind us. Looking forward to your WB team of the week PK. Also is this similar to what Melon did last year?

Peter - Reds team named, as above - just a lighthearted joke, though...But please give all of the players above a 10!

Also I sold my business and we have retired to the south coast. So I have plenty of time again. As a general rule the day consists of managing my SMSF, the beach, bush walks, and rugby. Weekends time for my working friends :)
