I think what's interesting is how the first two form teams compare to what was seen as our 'first choice' Wallabies pack for last year. Granted that teams have only played two or three games and there's some injuries to key players but I think this might be interesting to watch as the season progresses to see if the familiar faces work their way back in or if we continue to see some disparity. Also interesting is the age difference, the average age being nearly 4 years younger for the current form team. Potential 'changing of the guard'? 1 Scott Sio 23 (James Slipper 25) 2 Tatafu Polota-Nau 29 (Stephen Moore 32) 3 Sekope Kepu 29 4 Lopeti Timani 24 (James Horwill 29) 5 Luke Jones 23 (Rob Simmons 25) 6 Sean McMahon 20 (Scott Fardy 30) 7 Liam Gill 22 (Michael Hooper 23) 8 Ben McCalman 26 (Wycliff Palu 32)

What M. Cheika meant when he spoke of overseas players was he wants the option of selecting players for the World Cup even if they are off to some NH team next year. This allows him to select players like Kepu, Honey Badger, Genia and even Horwell who are contracted and playing in the this year's Super XV Rugby competition. There is NO way he can select blokes like Old man Giteau, or Longbottom (who I never saw as much chop in Australia anyway, though it is said he has vastly improved in Europe) or Timani and Mowen who could barely hold their place in the WB team anyway. Firstly as the battered slav says, they are not contracted SR players so miss out and secondly getting these blokes to meld into your team would be really difficult whereas some training camps are planned for Super Rugby players.

totally understandable I look forward to it as well. Also from next week I will be introducing my Recent Form team. The premise being that later season form counts a lot more than early season form. So that team will be weighted by the round of the performance.

no a lot do, I don't. I specifically note above ==================================== I intentionally select players in any position they have played since I want to showcase which players scored the highest in the round. ==================================== This is based on the points / scores awarded by roar on my earlier article. It could be that no one in a particular position gets a score, and besides I want to highlight the best performed players and decided it this way.

Ok, so Hunt, after getting dominated in his only professional, competitive game of rugby in this country is now our fullback for the world cup. Also, Longbottom is not contracted to an Aus super rugby side, so will be ineligible to play. Same goes for Kane Douglas, Matt Giteau, Ben Mowen and Timani, none of whom would make the starting XV even if they were contracted. You are aware that we don't pick players who aren't contracted to Aus Super Rugby sides don't you? Sorry macca, but this might just be one of the silliest posts I've ever seen on the roar.

Hello

Hi Peter Just wanting a confirmation in regards to JOC Team of the round, I would have thought it was for where the player had played that round?
