Vidosic signs for Melbourne Victory

By News / Wire

The A-League’s No.1 team again has a No.2, with Rado Vidosic appointed as assistant manager to Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat.

Vidosic, 53, has worked at A-League rivals Brisbane and Sydney FC in a variety of roles over the past decade, including two stints as Roar senior coach.

Muscat said Vidosic’s involvement in two Brisbane championships meant he understood what it took to be successful.

“That is invaluable to any football club,” Muscat said.

“He has vast experience in coaching including roles as a technical director, in youth development and as an assistant, caretaker and head coach in the A-League so he brings a great deal of expertise to our club.”

Victory’s former assistant Jean-Paul de Marigny left the Victory after their A-League grand final win for personal reasons.

De Marigny signed in a similar role at rivals Newcastle, where he will work with new coach Scott Miller.

The Victory resumed pre-season training on Monday ahead of their first match of the new campaign, a FFA Cup date on August 4 with Balmain Tigers.

ha awesome, i do love to laugh Accountants should have been made obselete decades ago with the invention of the calculator. :) They are only tolerated due to (unnecessarily) complex regulatory and tax structures....service economy indeed! Less cap/compliance dodgery and more focus on open market solutions in the HAL might be a path to sustainability and/or solvency. But then i guess that means less work on the back end(s)!

We're talking about the father signing as Assistant Coach... not the son signing as a player (just yet!). There has been some chatter that Dario may sign as the AUS marquee - which is outside the Salary Cap.
