Fringe Socceroo Dario Vidosic has signed a two-year deal with A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers, beginning this upcoming season.
The attacking midfielder joins the Wanderers as the club’s Australian marquee player and is expected to team with Italian striker Federico Piovacarri and former Brisbane Roar teammate Mitch Nicholls in a new-look attacking third.
The ex-Adelaide midfielder returns to Australia after three years with FC Sion in the Swiss league, where he scored just eight goals in 46 matches.
Vidosic also has 23 caps for the Socceroos but fell out of the national frame after being a squad member in last year’s World Cup in Brazil.
It is the 28-year-old’s third spell in the national competition, having previously appeared with Brisbane in 2006-07, and Adelaide in 2011-13.
Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said he was excited to recruit a player of Vidosic’s calibre as the club continued an overhaul of its playing roster.
“We have had a very busy off-season ensuring we recruit a playing group that have the drive and ability to take our club to the next stage of its evolution,” he said.
“Dario has a fantastic technical ability and we welcome him to the club and look forward to making him feel at home within the team and importantly within our club culture.”
The Wanderers continue their pre-season with a hit-out against NSW Premier League side APIA Leichhardt at Leichhardt Oval on Tuesday night ahead of their FFA Cup quarter-final against Perth on September 29.

Heard a lot of good things about this lad, but don't recall seeing him playing as yet. MVFC's squad is coming along very nicely. "Melbourne Victory are set to sign versatile Olyroo defender Giancarlo Gallifuoco." Full story: http://www.fourfourtwo.com/au/news/melbourne-victory-swoop-gallifuoco#:zsOj5rcQJslYjA

He's not a replacement for Bulut. Mehbratu is who we should be comparing with Bulut.

Is Vidosic a better player than Bullet I suggest not ? ...

Thanks. With Jets I see it the other way around - strong at the beginning but falling off in the second half if they don't boost their squad in January. They played Roar a couple of weeks back and they looked fit, well organised, and very aggressive so they'll be no ones mugs.

I can't CCM being competitive, the biggest two unknowns for me are, can Wellington score goals without Burns and how will off field dramas affect Roar. I think Newcastle will be iffy at the start of the season but will come good in the back end. So CCM is one of them the other 1 is either Wellington or Brisbane

Injured for almost a whole season. He was regarded quite well in Sion before the injury setback.

Dario was super for Adelaide a few years ago but never quite stepped up to where I thought he might overseas. Not sure if he was injured or not but 46 games in three years is not a lot of football. I'm torn now because I've always like watching Dario play and have wanted him to do well, but WSW?? Argh. :)

You can't deny a strong performing WSW is good for the League though.

Poppa loves to set up a strong defensive team. Now they have a set piece master, they'll be able to sit back all day and win 1-0 from a corner. Urgh, WSW top 4 :(

Well I hope this translates into a quality signing, a quality contribution to the squad sounds good anyways :-)
