The 2015 NRL Grand Final will be played between the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys at ANZ Stadium on Sunday October 4, with the kick-off scheduled for 7:15pm AEDT.
Note that for Queensland fans, that means the game kicks off at 6:15pm for you.
As is often the case with NRL matches, there’s a strong chance that the lead-up to the game will see the kick-off time delayed by at least a few minutes.
TV specials and live entertainment often cause the delay to the start of the NRL Grand Final.
While live coverage of the match will begin at 7:15pm – or later if the kick-off is delayed – Channel Nine will have NRL coverage running for most of the day in the lead-up to the game.
Beginning at 11:00am on Sunday Channel Nine will broadcast the Grand Final special epsiode of the Sunday Footy Show. This will be followed by the Holden Cup Final at 1:00pm, and the State Championship Final at 3:45pm.
Finally, Channel Nine’s coverage of the pre-match entertainment will begin at 6:30pm, in the lead-up to the scheduled kick-off time at 7:15pm.
This year for the first time the NRL Grand Final is an all-Queensland affair, fought between the Brisbane Broncos and the North Queensland Cowboys.
For Brisbane it is a chance to record the seventh premiership in their club’s history, having won premierships in the New South Wales Rugby League (1992 and 1993), the Super League (1997), and in the National Rugby League (1998, 2000 and 2006).
They have not appeared in the Grand Final since 2006 when they defeated the Melbourne Storm 15-8. They have an excellent record in Grand Finals, with six wins from six appearances, having never finished as the runners-up in any competition.
North Queensland on the other hand are searching for their first premiership in club history.
They have made the Grand Final only once previously, in 2005, when they lost to Wests Tigers 30-16.
These two sides met in the qualifying final three weeks ago with the Broncos coming away as the victors, 16-12.
The Broncos are the narrow favourite with betting markets coming into the game, at odds of $1.88. However, the Cowboys at $1.96 are very close.

Am I right in thinking that there's no HD coverage? Why would there be...it's not like we all own HD TVs and we all enjoy the usual pixelated coverage on channel 9. Think I might skip watching it live and just watch the re run on fox sports HD.

Yeah the whole daylight savings thing fooled me writing out my preview for the blog tomorrow night I must say. But DB is right, 7:15pm AEDT is the scheduled kick off. It will actually occur at 7:15 Queensland time though.
