England coaches banned from dressing room

By The Crowd / Roar Guru

England assistant coaches Andy Farrell and Graham Rowntree have been found guilty of making an illegal approach to match officials during halftime of the hosts’ 33-13 defeat to Australia, Rugby World Cup organisers announced on Friday.

As a result, the duo will “have restricted access to the England changing room and tunnel for England’s final Rugby World Cup 2015 Pool A match against Uruguay”.

They will be able to resume full coaching duties on Sunday, however, the day after England’s interest in the World Cup ends.

Both Farrell and Rowntree – whose positions along with that of head coach Stuart Lancaster are under review after the first round exit – admitted they had breached protocol at the hearing on Friday.

Er....I don't give a toss either way. I'm pointing out that Peter isn't really on the safest of footing as far as the moral high ground is concerned.

You wouldn't of thought that Danny Care was at the RWC. One of England's most threatening scrum halfs and he has had sweet fa game time. Especially odd considering that military medium Wigglesworth is in ahead of him. That smacks of A Farrell's influence more than anything. In fact Joe Simpson should be in the squad ahead of Wigglesworth. It's a damning indictment that he hasn't had much of a shot at Test Rugby. Alex Goode another Sarries boy is only there due to England refusing to select Abendanon and Felon Armitage. There are far better number 8s in England than 37 year old pie eating Nick Easter. I would of looked at Dave Ewers or even Thomas Waldrom before going back to yesterday's man.

What punishment other than a fine did Cheika get for smashing the Canberra Stadium coaching box door? It was also pretty obvious who was responsible for the damage to the Lansdowne Rd dressing room.

Coaches shouldn't be allowed to speak to referees on match days. Especially in a modern era where match fixing has affected other sports and Rugby is a game where the referee's decisions are heavily scrutinised. There's too much influencing the referee and it's bad enough that captains are telling referees to go to the TMO and look at certain things that is impacting on their team. Fine querying a decision but telling the referee what to look for and to go to the TMO is taking it too far.

If he is asked to give evidence, he is asked to give evidence. He should have just told them to get lost when they approached him should he?

How do you get to that conclusion? You're quite hysterical man. They did something wrong and they've been sanctioned, what more is there to add. You act like they've committed some heinous crime, when clearly they haven't.
