Five very good reasons the Wallabies will win the Rugby World Cup

By Daniel / Roar Rookie

Forget the form guide, here are five reasons why the Wallabies will win the Rugby World Cup final against the All Blacks on Sunday morning.

1. Since 1987, Australia has won the Rugby World Cup every year that Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest (Sweden won in 1991 and 1999). Sweden also won Eurovision this year.

2. The All Blacks have only won the Rugby World Cup when the Manly Sea Eagles won that year’s ARL/NRL premiership – something the Eagles didn’t quite manage to do this year.

3. In 1999, a New Zealand team won the Super Rugby and Australia won the Rugby World Cup. In 2011, an Australian team won the Super Rugby and New Zealand won the Rugby World Cup. In 2015, a New Zealand team won the Super Rugby…

4. Australia has won every Rugby World Cup the year after a South American team was the runner-up in the FIFA World Cup (Argentina were runners-up in 1990, and Brazil in 1998). Argentina were runners-up in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

5. In 1996, a conservative politician named John became the Prime Minister of Australia. Three years later Australia won the RWC, and then lost in the final 4 years after that. In 2008, a conservative politican named John became the Prime Minister of New Zealand. 3 years later New Zealand won the RWC…

Roarers, what are your alternative reasons why either side will win? Get creative…

"1991, 1999, 2015 – Labor politicians were disgraced. " If that was the gold standard for omens, I feel sorry (for the Wallabies) that the RWC is not played every year :) PS, for those playing for the other team, just replace Labour with Coalition.

"What’s a poor Wallabies supporter to do?" buy an All Black Jumper :) BTW, History is on the Wallabies side. 1) All Blacks only win RWC finals played in New Zealand. 2) Wallabies only win RWC finals played in the UK. 3) The first time the ABs won the RWC was 1987. The Wallabies won the following one, played at Twickers. The second time the ABs won the RWC was 2011. The Wallabies are playing in the following final (2015) also at Twickenham. 4) Coach Cheika has won championships in the Northern Hemisphere before. By comparison, when Coach Hansen was in charge of Wales in 2003, they lost every game in the 6 Nations. The final, and most damning statistic of all; 5) As a coach, Hansen has lost more times (3) to the ABs than Michael Cheika (1) Despite all that, my heart says the ABs by 10

I suppose Nepo Laulala (Samoa), Tawera Kerr-Barlow (Australia), Jerome Kaino (American Samoa) aren't New Zealanders either?? I really hate these sort of arguments.

He was born there and moved to Australia, much the same as Jerome Kaino was born in American Samoa or Tawera Kerr-Barlow was born in Melbourne!

Do intelligent people use 'please' in the same sentence twice? I love the article and this type of banter - well done and let's have more of it! Great to see the Wallabies playing in a manner that befits the jersey and status of the team.

Apart from vs France NZ has been MIA and in that game France was MIA. WB have better back row, hooper, Pocock and Fardi currently superior. WBs have far more effective back line, especially the centre pairing and wings. Genia is outplaying Smith. Cooper will come off the bench. That's the ABs only upside! Oh, and Folau is injured, that too. Please don't be offended. I mean none of this.

the one that worries me is that Argentina have been knocked out of the last 2 world cups by the eventual winner

ABs are better looking ,kind to small children and wee animals [ now that hore git is gone ] and wear more flattering clothing . Wallies look like Van Gogh tulips in their getup ,are so butt-ugly as to make not only small children but even some of yer uglier primates cry and have been seen to leave little old ladies stranded on pedestrian crossings . So the Awesomely Beautiful sons of New Zealand it is !

Reasons why the Wallabies might win- - the build up of 12 years of humiliation by NZ - the crowd will back the 'underdog' - Cheika and Larkham have been planning this game for over a year, and have happily been winning without being taken seriously by NZ, or most of its fans. - doubt has already been sown in AB minds by the game in Sydney - 'normal' transmission was resumed in Auckland - this game is not in Auckland - Milner Skudder is short - Richie is a yellow target. Cynical play is not as rewarded any more. - NZ cynical play is systemised, not accidental or impulsive, and forms a part of their strategy. . Kaino is a very experienced professional rugby player. He is not stupid. His kick from offside on Saturday was a deliberate tactic. As was McCaws trip earlier in Cup. When a referee targets deliberate infringement NZ sometimes struggle to flick the switch to 'fair'. - WBs are very competitive at the Breakdown at this cup. Why NZ may win- -They are the form team in the world withe daylight second - They have the highest percentage of BPIWIMP's (Best Player in World in My Position) - attack, defence and almost everything in between (possibly not breakdown) - hardly anyone, ever, beats them.

Stats mean nothing to the All Blacks. They merely play every game as they see it! The Wallabies are worried after wresting the Championship from the Trans-Tasman foe - we know what a hurt All Black is like. Ask the French! Australia's poor Bledisloe record - just gives the ABs even more motivation to "put the boot in" I am not even going to try and analyse the match-ups - although in Fardi, Moore, Hooper, and Pockock Wallabies have gifted players. All Blacks though are the more skillful - and the backs even better. I predict carnage at Tiwckenham. All Blacks easily by 20 points!
