WATCH: Goalkeeper knocks out striker in brutal collision

By Roar TV / Roar Guru

Vancouver Whitecaps player Masato Kudo was instantly knocked unconscious after a big collision with goalkeeper Matt Lampson in Major League Soccer.

Both goalkeeper and striker went for the ball and the accidental hip and shoulder looked brutal in full speed.

Medics took their time to make sure Kudo hadn’t suffered any serious injuries. He eventually regained consciousness and was able to sit up before being carted off the field.

The Whitecaps went on to defeat the Chicago Fire 2-1.

Sorry fuss, i know you are the messiah and all, but the last game of soccer i saw was extremely messy, just kick and hope, far from the beautiful game that you claim. The ball changed sides every second kick, no one could hit a target, it was ugly, the beautiful game may exist, but essentially it is rare and just a title like the game they play in heaven, the greatest game of all etc. Not only that but the players look unco trying not to use their hands Please don't threaten to break my legs again fuss, i know you are very tough man.

Thanks for that chief. Wouldn't you love it if one of your Roar players showed that type of commitment to the ball? You might then not have given up a three goal lead. The players were simply not prepared to pay the price.

The aim of a football match is to move the ball into the opponent's net. The smart footballer will understand there's more to be gained from using technique to achieve this goal (pun intended) than to barge into players. Barging into players is the domain of the neanderthal player who has no technical ability.

:that question" backtracking Casper..............you mean these comments from you after I reminded you of your Johnny Warren comments....wrong about what exactly? Me asking you why you assumed I immigrated to Australia? Ian said | May 9th 2016 @ 9:38am | ! Report Casper is here……….the guy who pokes fun at Johnny Warren…….I remember your comment well. Says a lot about your (lack of) character. Reply • Casper said | May 9th 2016 @ 10:04am | ! Report Ian – nobody is beyond having a little fun poked at them. Out of interest, had you even heard of Johnny before you immigrated to Australia? • Caltex & SBS support Australian Football said | May 9th 2016 @ 10:26am | ! Report I remember your comment. I played football with the late Johnny Warren when we were kids. You will tarnished forever with that pathetic comment. • Casper said | May 9th 2016 @ 10:59am | ! Football is a contact sport.........it's just not an intentional collision sport where colliding with other men is the primary method of getting from one end of the field to the other.

Tennis and golf aren't contact sports. You were the one saying a couple of weeks ago that soccer is a tough contact sport. if it is then the players should accept that sometimes that contact could be brutal.

"an A League player wouldn’t be prepared to do that." Pure ignorance from someone who either: a) doesn't watch Aleague; or b) watches Aleague but is can't understand what he's watching. Either option. Every time a player heads the ball he's putting his body on the line. In AFL players duck their heads to avoid contact.

Ian - because he would be willing to put his body on the line, for the sake of the team. But you are probably right, an A League player wouldn't be prepared to do that. That question, surely you are not saying that I am wrong.

Hey Caspy You never got back to me on the question you ran away from the other day. Also, why would an A-League player commit to a contest like that when the name of the game, football, is not about intentional collisions and knocking other players unconscious?

I've never said I don't watch A League. That's just you assuming that you know everyone's habits.

A bloke who doesn't watch A-League comes to the forum for the sole purpose of ridiculing, annoying & inciting an argument. Every day, the same juvenile garbage from the same feeble minds. It's very sad how lonely & socially isolated some people are that such behaviour is their only way of interacting with others.

A-league players should take note. That's how you commit to a contest.
