The Wallabies have only one change to their starting side ahead of the match against Scotland and that is the return of Will Genia, who missed last week due to his commitments with French side Stade Francais.

Nick Phipps was moved to the bench to accomodate Genia’s return, with Michael Cheika saying that Phipps had impressed but not done enough to displace Genia.

“Genia, I thought he’s been one of our best all season,” said Cheika.

“I just feel that this is a good game for him to play, come back in and get straight into it and then Nick [Phipps] will finish the game. I think Nick’s standard has definitely gone up from what I saw earlier in the year and now there’s a real competition going on there.”

The match will see the Aussies look to make it two wins from as many starts in their Spring Tour, after defeating Wales by a comfortable margin last week.

After this week’s match, they have Tests against France, Ireland and England to come.

They dudded themselves by failing to catch the lineout which preceeded the disputed call, then by taking a long, uncontested kick off with a minute to go which denied them possession and the chance to score winning points. It was theirs to win but a lack of polish made them vulnerable to the unpredictablites of refereeing, not our problem.

Would love to see Scotland win after they were dudded in the last meeting by the referee. However, I can't see the Scots making it 3 out of the last 4 meetings between the nations. I tip the Wallabies to even things at 2-2, probably by a large number of points. However, if they play the way they did against New Zealand, and they have a referee who doesn't like their "running the decoy" tactic (i.e. plain interference), the Scots could find themselves with plenty of penalty kicks.

Bruce I reacted to that quote also when I saw it in a header. But when I heard it from the the horses mouth in the right context, EJ meant chess pieces on steroids = bigger chess pieces. On another note, I am still furious that England-South Africa and Scotland-Australia kicks off at the same time. The two most interesting games of the weekend and it is impossible see both live.

Fairfax newspapers in early editions at least have headline "Springboks play chess with steroids" says Jones but it doesn't say that in the article?? Whats this about?? Is it defamatory??

The Scots' props are a worry for Scots fans - this will be Allan Dell's (a Saffer) first test. Zander Fagerson has just the one test cap and had a torrid time against the England scrum but he's not bad in the loose. Flanker John Barclay is about the same size as Pocock so no fears there for WB fans. Timani is a lot bigger than Ryan Wilson. On the whole, the WBs have bigger, faster backs. It's raining now in Edinburgh. Clouds are predicted to roll away by tomorrow but the grass will be slick. Oz leads Scotland at Murrayfield 9 wins to 7.

Don't mind how much they win by but want to see intelligent decisions and adapting to conditions -- Comment from The Roar's iPhone app.
