The Wallabies will look to continue their European tour after defeating Wales, when they head to Murrayfield to take on Scotland. Join The Roar for live scores from the match and a live blog of the game, starting from 1:30am (AEDT).
After Scotland’s rugby league side drew with the world No.1 New Zealand Kiwis on Saturday morning, their rugby union cousins will look to go one better against another Antipodean rival in Australia.
Australia, on the other hand, will be keen to get the win against a side they’ve generally been able to beat in recent years, and make it two for two in their Spring Tour quest.
This will be a lot closer than some Wallabies fans will give credit for. Scotland also has a great recent record against the Aussies with both sides winning two apiece in the last four matches between the sides.
The last time these two sides met it was in a controversial World Cup finish, with Bernard Foley sealing the win late in the piece for the Wallabies. That was an extremely exciting game with the Aussies escaping 35-34.
Expect the Scots to use that heartbreak to drive them in this one.
The Wallabies will have to look out for Stuart Hogg. The Scotland full-back was named Player of the Tournament at this year’s Six Nations after scoring tries against both France and Ireland. The 24-year-old will be looking to impress this autumn ahead of the Lions tour of New Zealand next year.
Prediction
While the Wallabies were superb last week, I think Scotland has more at stake and will want to get them back for last year’s heartbreaker in the World Cup.
