In light of the *ahem* recent poor run of form displayed by the Springboks, one of their own fans has taken to Reddit to suggest a slight amendment to their current logo.
Reddit user ‘Alexei17’ uploaded his take on a possible way the South African board could get the logo of the national side more up to date.
In his rendition, the galloping Springbok is replaced by Disney character Bambi whilst the famous Protea was left out in lieu of a pink cartoon flower.
An upgrade befitting the style of rugby they’ve displayed of late?
In their recent tour of Europe, the ‘Boks didn’t manage a single victory – drawing with the Barbarians and going down at the hands of England, Italy and Wales respectively.
Their latest loss extended their losing streak to five straight games, with their most recent victory coming over the Wallabies on 1 October at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
Prior to that, you have to go as far back as August 20 to find a game in which the South Africans emerged victorious – when they beat Argentina 30-23.
We think that ‘Alexei17’ should pitch his idea to the South African Rugby Board, and that it could go a long way to aiding universal recognition of just how bad the Springboks are at the moment. And maybe even inspire the players to not suck quite as much.
With any luck, they might just take it and run with it. Unlike the ‘Boks with the footy.

I've had a change of mind over this issue and what got me there was remembering an incident in Port Elizabeth some 10 years ago . .. Two young entrepreneurs started a business called " Laugh It Off Promotions" . They came up with a T-shirt logo for FNB bank (First National Bank ) Except they swopped FNB's tree logo with a marijuana leaf and renamed it Finest National Bankie . ... In SA a bankie is slang for a plastic bank packet filled with marijuana. The T-Shirts sold like wildfire but also slurred the banks name. In this instance the bank saw the humour and ordered t-shirts for the tens of thousands of its staff members.These youngsters then took a satirical swipe at Black Label Beer , re working the logo with the header Black Labour , White Guilt.. The response at the time by SAB , one of the worlds largest beer brewing companies was to issue court interdicts and to sue for damages. They received little or no support from the public and only generated ill feeling towards themselves. ... so my message and advice here to myself more than anyone else is to Laugh It Off ..

Jeez that's a bit rich. Our logo is a soft cuddly little marsupial that eats, roots and leaves. Hmmmm obviously the perpetrators of this rubbish have never faced angry bokke ever. I am always reminded that poking sleeping lions and other creatures is pretty dumb. These bozos are just Gehirnfurz according to my fractured German. Not sure what the Afrikaans for it would be? Harry help me out.

I wonder what changes will be made to the Wallabies logo after they lose to England.

Well the only thing left is to change the springbok logo you do get black springboks in nature so change the 2016 logo to a black springbok what was was and what is is.
