The NSW Waratahs’ Super Rugby troubles have deepened with star playmaker Bernard Foley sent home from South Africa with continuing concussion symptoms.
The Wallabies five-eighth suffered a head knock in a pre-season trial against the Highlanders and has missed the opening two rounds of the competition.
“The best thing for him right now is to return to Sydney and he’s going to see a neurologist and have some more tests and hopefully that will send him on the right course to improve,” said Waratahs coach Daryl Gibson.

Totally agree. The backrow I'd select would be 6) Timani 7) Hodgeson 8) Holloway Locks Coleman and Arnold or Carter and Arnold depending on Coleman's availability (that recent injury is a massive setback for Australia as Coleman is The best ball carrier forward we have and is a beast in defence). With Ready at 2 we have a 2nd pilferer. Moore can be reserve hooker to come one for the final 20 but only if he practises throwing and hooking. I'm worried about props because we may lose Slipper. Holmes gone now (I'd consider bringing him back as Australia's best scrummaging hooker). Sio / Kepu is fine to start but backups look light on in experience. How's This? Sio Ready Kepu Coleman / Carter Arnold Timani Hodgeson Holloway Genia / Lucas Lance / Cooper Folau Kerevi / Godwin / Hodge Kurindrani Sefa N DHP

to call Lance a 'great' is probably a stretch.

His point is there's no reliable first choice buddy!!

I like Foley. He has a couple of attributes that others like Cooper do not have. He attacks the line and does not avoid being tackled by giving "hospital" passes. Futhermore, under pressure he is a very reliable goal kicker. When fit, he is the best we have at the moment.

Let me spell it out for you Hoy.... Barrett is reliable, Cruden is reliable, Sopoaga is reliable. Any of these can step into the NZ starting line-up and kick ass. "what is reliable?" ... I looked it up for you.."consistently good in quality or performance; able to be trusted" (Macq Dict) "reliable to what level?"... WTF. Who in Oz fits the bill for reliable back-up 10 right now, Hoy? No-one. My point. Otherwise see below.

Lance Godwin Beale Cooper I rate them all above Foley anyway (Foley is doing the same thing Giteau did - start out OK then lose all MOJO). Wallaby depth is outstanding at the moment (if the right players are selected...). Lucas needs to replace Phipps as backup halfback behind Genia. Ready to assume Wallaby Hooker ahead of Moore who must retire from international rugby. DHP to start as Wallaby FB and Folau to the wing. If Cheika makes these changes the Wallabies will be a completely different team.

Here's hoping he's ok long term. As recent events have shown us rugby is fantastic but it's not life or death. Hopefully Foley has a good many years left on this planet and will enjoy them in good health with his brain intact.
