Australian Tom Rogic has pulled off a miraculous effort late in the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen, booting home the all-important, match-winning goal for Celtic.
The 24-year-old, who has enjoyed a breakout season with Celtic, drilled his eighth goal across all competitions in the 92nd minute, sneaking the ball past Aberdeen keeper Joe Lewis from a tight angle.
Earlier, Aberdeen had got the jump on the scottish powerhouse, as Jonny Hayes booted the opener in the ninth minute. But Celtic fought back quickly, as Stuart Armstrong found an equaliser just two minutes later.
Rogic was then brought onto the field in the 18th minute for defender Kieran Tierney, who had been struck in the face, reportedly suffering a broken jaw.
The win sees Celtic claim a treble of domestic competition wins, having already taken home the Scottish Premiership and League Cup.

Thanks Ben; it's funny how we all see Rogic's talents in different lights. I see Rojic, as a carbon copy of the great man Viduka. But of course that's only my opinion.

I think he had an injury that needed attention, after that I have heard nothing, is he still contracted at Perth?

From what I've seen, he's a different player. Viduka was able to play with his back to goal holding off and then turning defenders, which resulted in him drawing additional defenders and hence creating gaps for others to exploit. Rogic appears to have more graft and can work his way through defenders. He could be a decent striker, but he'd have a very different role to that played by Viduka.

So Ben, do you think Rogic, would be a good No9 for the Roos like Viduka was, or not?

Not surprised by zero coverage in Melbourne. Its like a siege mentality down there.

Tracey Holmes was not impressed with her employer http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-05-27/liverpool-effort-a-misstep-in-abc-history-of-sport-broadcasting/8565360 And on the morning of the game last week, Melbourne ABC radio sports guy Paul Kennedy couldn't bring himself to even mention the game being broadcast by his employer later that night. How appalling. If that had been broadcast on another channel it would have been cross promoted without doubt. Lack of professionalism by the ABC and lack of leadership from the FFA.

If I could return to the theme of this past week. My ABC 7.00 PM news, no English or Scottish FA Cup footage or even stills of scores.

The key with Rogic is that being with Celtic means he is very familiar with playing against deep lying defences, which is what the Socceroos are likely to face in Adelaide. We won't be facing that scenario in Russia though.........

Where is Danny De Silva at the moment? I recall him leaving Roda at the start of the year however I haven't heard anything since.

A couple of good signing by Okon. Very surprising to see CCM taking these steps. Right out of character with the club's football philosophy.

Does anyone think Rogic, could be a good No9 for the 'Roos. He has all the hallmarks of Viduka. Great timing for the player to hit form at the right time with crucial internationals coming in June.

Baro is a proven defender who, before joining Melbourne Victory, earned more than a decade of experience plying his trade in Spain with the likes of Osasuna, Alicante and SD Ponferradina -

Given the time. Given the occasion. Given the heartbreak of his penalty miss in the Semi Final last year. This was just outstanding by our lad, Tomi Rogic. As good a goal as you will see any where, any time; any level. Rogic & Mooy are the type of players we need to keep churning out. Mass Luongo seems to have slipped away. Musti Amini, Danny De Silva, Stefan Mauk, Terry Antonis are guys I hugely admire. And Brisbane Roar has a gem in Joe Caletti.
