Tigers player to speak about infamous photo

By News / Wire

Nathan Broad, the player at the centre of the Richmond topless medal photo scandal, will make a statement on Monday.

The unidentified woman in the picture has dropped her complaint to police, but she’s released a statement on Monday saying says she had been assured by the AFL player – who she knew – that the photo had been deleted from his phone.

Broad and Tigers president Peggy O’Neal will address the media at 11am at Punt Rd Oval.

"Keep this stuff out of the media..." !!! what planet are you on Harry ??? There is no stronger narrative doing the rounds right now than inappropriate treatment of females by males !! . . . also, this whole event started by Broad putting the photo in to social media - duurrrr!!!

... was it her idea or his idea to take the photo and why take it if just to delete it.
What's the relevance? There is absolutely nothing wrong with the photo being taken between two consenting parties. The issue is she withdrew consent by requesting it be deleted. He acknowledged that by choosing to lie to her and telling her he did delete it.
When he sent it did he identify the women or not.
Doesn't matter. It wasn't his to decide what to do with. She asked for it to be deleted. He chose to lie to her and tell her he did delete it. He then made a choice to send it to other(s) when he knew it was supposed to have been deleted.

Again it may be worth mentioning she agreed to the photo, his crime was sending it on not taking it. We were not in the room was it her idea or his idea to take the photo and why take it if just to delete it. When he sent it did he identify the women or not. Seems to be some bits missing here so a bit harsh to judge but hey who need the facts lets burn him.

You'd have to be able to prove the people who sent it on did so knowing it was against the girls wishes. That'd be difficult to impossible to do.

He broke the law. Regardless if she doesn't want to press charges, the police should still follow through with charging him. If he had bashed the young lady and she decided to drop her complaint, would the police have let it go knowing that the crime had taken place. Thank god I didn't grow up in the digital age. -- Comment from The Roar's iPhone app.

Your understanding of the process that occurred over that month is laughable! But then, Brian knows best, and all!

If he had kept it between the two of them there wouldn't be a problem.

Broad is a Grub for doing what he did. Grubby is being a coach and pressuring young players to be injected with performance enhancing drugs. Grubby is sticking chopsticks in a woman's face and threatening to assault her. Grubby is being at a party and getting it on with your best mate's missus in the bathroom. This is a photo of a woman's breasts. He shouldn't have done it, but calm down.

Keep this stuff out of the media, it's life, he was wrong, the rest is personal between the two of them.

3 game suspension..? Pretty poor of the AFL and Richmond if they think this is a suitable sanction...

3 games is really weak. This after it took a month for him to "realise" he is sorry for his actions.

Broad is a Grub for doing what he did. The Tigers football club has also been pretty ordinary in this Saga. Personally I think she should not have dropped the police charges. Players will never learn if they keep getting away with this type of behaviour.
