Lions vs Sunwolves: Super Rugby live scores

By Tyler Oringer / Roar Guru

The talented Lions will look to continue their so-far impressive season as they host a struggling, winless Sunwolves squad during Round 5. Join The Roar for live scores from 18 March 2:15am (AEDT).

The South African-based Lions have started off the season on a three-game winning streak, but took a tough loss at the hands of the Blues last Sunday.

Fortunately for the Lions, they take on the Japanese-based Sunwolves, who are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.

It has been a three rounds to forget for the Sunwolves who most recently took an eye-popping 50-22 loss against the surprisingly mediocre Sharks last Sunday.

You can expect this match to be a forgettable one. The Sharks actually fell to the Lions during the first round of the season, but were able to bury the Sunwolves with ease.

If the mutual matchups don’t give away the blowout potential of these two teams, the stats will.

The Lions’ point differential sits at an impressive 38 (the highest in the conference), while the Sunwolves are at an abysmal -55, the lowest in all of Super Rugby as of the start of this round.

It appears that the Sunwolves are just not a good unit overall, and facing a confident Lions team, this could get ugly.

Prediction
Look for an unsurprisingly dominant from the Lions against the Sunwolves.

Sunwolves continue to make me eat humble pie . Sharks continue to disappoint. Stormers offloads a joy to watch. Bulls lack self belief. Aussie sides look stronger this year. Chiefs will want the same ref for very single match this year.

The Lions are lost without Whiteley, zero game management, defense doesn’t exist, helper shelter toddler rugby, immature decision maker. Without Whiteley’s leadership there is no way they get close to play offs, and they need Jaco Kriel
