The Wests Tigers visit Fortress Brookie to take on the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 6 of the NRL. Join The Roar from 4:10pm (AEST) for live scores and coverage.

The Sea Eagles have been inconsistent so far in 2018, dominating at home but looking vulnerable on the road.

For the Tigers, consistency has been their modus operandi, with a 4-1 start to the season.

It will be tough for the joint venture returning to Sydney after defeating the Melbourne Storm in New Zealand – especially since Manly are unbeaten at Brookvale Oval in 2018.

The Sea Eagles delivered an impressive 54-0 win over the Eels in Round 2 before knocking off the Raiders 32-16 a fortnight later, although they are yet to come up against quality opposition.

Daly Cherry-Evans will be expected to carry his team after a heavy loss to the Titans in Gladstone, while also attempting to secure a State of Origin jumper.

The Tigers will be boosted by Josh Reynolds’ return from injury, the enigmatic livewire providing head coach Ivan Cleary with a healthy headache as a result of Benji Marshall’s form.

There is a bitter rivalry between these two clubs, dating back to the ‘Fibros versus Silvertails’ battles of days gone by, between the Magpies and Sea Eagles. Since the joint venture in 2000 however, these two teams have met 25 times with Manly winning 15 games compared to Tigers’ ten.

Wests Tigers have been victorious just once from nine outings at Brookvale Oval, going down at the venue in Round 19 last year 28-16 before returning fire with a 30-26 win at Leichhardt Oval in Round 23.

Prediction
This will be a close, low-scoring affair, but expect the Silvertails to come home strong.

Sea Eagles by 2.

Hard to understand why we were so flat but full credit to the Tigers. Any time a defender drifts across like Luke Brooks did to open up the defence so easily with an inside pass is just really weak defence.

Mainly because Manly had a win/loss pattern linked with home/away games. Manly due for a win and at home and Tigers missing a few important bodies plus turbo back in. A Manly win was a fair call.

Didn't watch the game but the triple M commentary teams were all in agreement that it should have been a penalty try, though they do have Harrigan on the team so that probably helped. Strange things happening at manly at the moment, you don't know if they're going to blow you away or just not show up

He has always had it. Last year Moses had control and he is now gone. Whatever sport Luke has played over the years he has always had brilliant game awareness

Obvious penalty try , I don't know why the commentators were so surprised. Should be more penalty tries. Manly so soft two weeks in a row. I believe we've got a good roster and have plenty of attack but the effort in defence is a long way off the mark The Eels are a chance next week if we play like that.

This is the first time the Wests Tigers have won at Brookvale Oval since 2003. Manly's last loss at home came on this day last year to the Storm 30-26 (Round 7). The Wests Tigers have never won three games on the road to start the season, the first time since Balmain in 1987.
