Blues skipper to miss a month of AFL

By News / Wire

Carlton captain Marc Murphy has been ruled out for up to a month with a foot injury, in a further blow to the struggling AFL club.

Blues head of football Andrew McKay said scans on Friday showed a further tear of the fascia in Murphy’s foot.

“Clearly this is a disappointing outcome for Marc and the club.” McKay said.

“There was swelling in the area and as such, we had to let it settle before we could assess it properly. Scans last night have revealed the tear in the fascia and the surrounding scar tissue.

“He will ease back into the training program and we expect him to be available in three to four weeks.”

Carlton remains anchored to the bottom of the AFL ladder, with only one win from nine matches.

What a sad little man you are. You must live a miserable life if the only gratifications you get in life are on the back of Carltons misfortunes.

Williamson has injured his back though, surely you don't think the blues are managing their players very well? Players are constantly suffering recurring injuries. 73 point flogging again today at VFL level and simply nothing to like, trifecta of wooden spoons a real possibility here. Every single facet of the club is a complete shambles, year after year.

I reckon what has happened here with Murphy is that he's done a heap of running work on it, yep, no worries, all sweet - and they've thrown him back in. But in match conditions it's a different story, when you add the physical contact to the pace then it's clear there was an issue. And I don't think he would have been doing full match sim training before coming back otherwise the soreness would surely have shown Anyone else remember Judd's infamous hamstring tear about 5 minutes after ripping off the sub vest back in 2014? Same story. He'd done a ton of running, no actual training. He even admitted as much afterwards

Yeah, Williamson's head knock was clearly a result of him coming back to early from a back injury. I am constantly amazed that you can't even stumble across something you know something about.

Murphy now joins Marchbank,Kennedy,Kruezer,Byrne and A.Silvagni to aggravate existing injuries after returning to soon. Yet another example of the constant mismanagement that's constantly failing the club in almost every possible department. Williamson injured in the first quarter of today's reserves game also after only playing a half last week. Time to look closely at McKay who is responsible for hiring so many underperforming staff in so many underperforming departments. He's been around a while now McKay with very little to show for it unfortunately.
