Wallabies player ratings vs Springboks Rugby Championship

By The Roar / Editor

The results are in! We asked you to rate the Wallabies side that took to the field against the Springboks, and now we’ve added up the data from all of our responders to bring your our DIY player ratings.

It wasn’t pretty but despite missing David Pocock, Israel Folau and Adam Coleman, the Wallabies managed to hold out for a five-point win over the Springboks.

Among the starters it was Matt Toomua (6.98) and Will Genia (6.71) who were the most highly-rated performers, but amazingly they didn’t top the team.

That honour instead went to Taniela Tupou off the bench, who squeezed past them with an average rating of 7.03.

The voters were willing to give most of the side a thumbs up, but weren’t especially impressed by the performances of Tatafu Polota-Nau (4.40) or Marika Koroibete (3.91).

Check out the full results below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Well done as Tui was the best Wallaby forward . For a comparison to the captain. Lukhan 28 run meteres 10 tackles 1 miss, 1 line break, 2 lineouts No misses. Hooper 13 run meteres 10 tackles 1 miss, No Line breaks, No Lineouts.

very true Banks should be provided a genuine opportunity since none of the current back 3 are performing that well. Folau back on the wing and Banks at f/b would be ideal. However realistically Folau at f/b and Banks on the wing would be ok as well. Maddocks will be given a lot of time and excuses like Hanigan was.

Yep. Sadly, I'd be tempted to add Maddocks and to a lesser extent DHP, who I don't think is in great form at present, to that list.

And give away penalties, not sure what he presents that other wingers are missing Cheika just seems to has some favourites that just continue getting picked regardless of form.

To be honest and based on what I'v seen thus far, he's not worthy of being in the side.

Does anyone else think Koroibete is missing tackles, throwing poor passes, and generally struggling with positional play, or is it just me?

Divided by run on 15 = 5.67 The finishers = 3.95 by 8 or 5.27 by 6 Might indicate that the finishers are not helping finish.

But divide by 21 and you get 5.56, which seems a bit high.

Add all scores, divide by 23 = 5.06 Average which is about right. I thought the Wallabies were worse than against the AB's, its very hard to see any progress with this team.
