Even though Sydney FC have the home advantage and got the win against Central Coast Mariners last week, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen at Jubilee stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Wellington will be fired up after having been robbed of a sure win. In a way, though, they have only themselves to blame – if Nathan Burns had scored that chance or had at least passed the ball, it would have been two goals for Wellington and Diego Castro’s equaliser wouldn’t have been enough.
Wellington Pheonix predicted line-up
In the last game against Perth Glory, Nathan Burns linked up really well with Roy Krishna, so I assume that they will start up front together again. If Filip Kurto is ready, he will be forced back into the starting line-up.
If not, Wellington will be in trouble, and all they can do is hope that he will come back soon. Apart from that, I think Wellington will have an unchanged starting XI, as they performed very well against Perth Glory and will be looking to continue that run.
Sydney FC predicted line-up
Even though Sydney didn’t perform well against Central Coast Mariners, they got the win and will be hoping to up their game against Wellington. They may not be the strongest team in the league, but as they showed against Perth, they’re good at making the opposition defenders feel comfortable with their high press, so Sydney will need to be on top of their game.
I don’t think that Siem de Jong will be forced back into the starting line-up, as they won’t want to get him injured again – they’d only recall him into the side if they were in a final or something like that. Instead they’ll probably bring him on for Paulo Retre in around the 60thminute.
Predicted game result: 2-1 win to Sydney
Sydney has a lot of quality in their team and they will be looking to bounce back after a bad game against Central Coast. Wellington will be angry after losing a game they should’ve won against Perth, but it won’t be enough for them to snatch a win, with Sydney having the home advantage. If you add the quality of Milos Ninkovic and Adam le Fondre, it’s sure to be a win for Sydney.

Rudan will be a hero if Wellington gets the three points in Sydney. But away from home, one would think it will be too tough for them.

If Wellington plays as they did against Perth then they have a very good chance, but Sydney has shown that they are consistent and will be looking to prove that, so your prediction is probably right.

Wellington were excellent in the first half against glory . Mandi rufer Fenton moved the bsll quickly often switching wide about 30 metres out for Singh or Burns to bring it back in Whether Wellington can do this away will depend on their attitude . I think if they sit back they will eventually get done by Le fonder . Also in Sydney last 2 games the refs have awarded them a soft pen and one farce pen against victory , so what odds a Sydney penalty today... . Odds on Durante gets another yellow card for a hack on Le fondre It’s probably going to be hot with a slow tempo . Sydney are 2-0 favs , but if Wellington keep improving hopefully a exciting game ahead.
