Kangaroos set to face Kiwis in Wollongong

By News / Wire

The Kangaroos will face New Zealand in a trans-Tasman double-header in Wollongong, the NRL has announced.

The Jillaroos and the Kiwi Ferns will also meet at WIN Stadium, with the matches on October 25.

“Rugby league has a home in the Illawarra, so we’re delighted to bring the pinnacle of rugby league back to Wollongong for the first time in five years,” NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said.

Love your answer BA. I know the Dragons have a great home ground, but it seems a strange place to be playing a "pinnacle" game. Three o'clock on a Saturday afternoon at the SCG with a few beers, works I reckon. Now how does that look for Latrell & Boyd?

It was the earliest time they could agree on. Latrell has a baby shower on the 18th and Boyd Cordner a wedding on the 11th, so this was the best they could do... I agree though - the 18th would make more sense for the "pinnacle" which is so important they are distancing it as far away from the NRL as possible.

Are there other rep games on before this game is played? I realize the GF is on the 6th of October but this game is nearly 3 weeks later?
