LISTEN: Can Jeremy Cameron kick 100 goals this season?

It’s no secret Jeremy Cameron is not just one of the best players at Greater Western Sydney, but one of the best in the AFL.

The powerful, dynamic forward has kicked 351 goals in 136 games for the Giants. While his talent is highly respected by anyone with two eyes, one can only imagine the kind of attention he would receive playing for a Victorian powerhouse.

The 26-year-old isn’t slowing down, either. His blistering form in 2019 sees him lead the Coleman Medal race with 24 goals from six games – that’s seven more than Richmond’s Tom Lynch in second place. He’s also ranked first in the competition for marks inside 50 and total score involvements and has had a mammoth 39 scoring opportunities.

To see the man in full flight, one need look no further than the seven goals, nine marks and 30 disposals he notched against the Tigers in Round 4 in what deserves to be considered one of the greatest individual performances in recent memory.

If Cameron doesn’t reach 100 majors, he’s still on track to record a career-best tally and win his first Coleman Medal.

The elusive feat hasn’t been achieved since Buddy Franklin kicked 102 goals – 113 including finals – in Hawthorn’s iconic 2008 premiership season.

St Kilda’s Fraser Gehrig finished the 2004 season on 90 and managed to reach 103 during the finals, but Franklin was the first to manage it during the regular season since Tony Lockett kicked 107 for Sydney in 1998.
