Who will be the champion in the Champions League?

By aussierad / Roar Rookie

We are now coming to the business end of the Champions League.

Barcelona with a big lead of 3-0 will likely finish off Liverpool on 8 May, while the Spurs, after a terrific series against Man City, still have a chance against Ajax and the outcome is less predictable. Barcelona will be in the finals, and I think Spurs will have a close game against Ajax and play Barcelona in the finals.

In the finals, the two key players will be (obviously) Lionel Messi for Barcelona and Son Heung Min or Sonny for the Spurs. Messi’s genius is a given, there is nothing this God of football cannot do, except maybe punch an opposition player in the head.

How Messi got away with that on Fabinho is beyond me, but he is a magician. Sonny, on the other hand, showed today against Bournefield that with a gentle push he was able to inspire Lerma to turn in a potentially Oscar-winning performance and for his troubles earn a red card.

Assuming such violence would not be required on the field, the head will say Barcelona but the heart says Spurs. There are even rumours Harry Kane will have a miraculous recovery after his own ill-fated brain explosion against Man City injuring his lateral ligaments. Judging from the mechanism of injury, my best guess is Kane partially torn his ATFL or the anterior talofibular ligament and possibly his calcaneofibular ligament (I apologise for using these medical words, but since this is my first Roar article, I am endeavouring to leave a favourable impression).

I digress, but Harry Kane will come back and together with Sonny will overcome Messi and Barcelona and clear the dust in the Spurs’ trophy cabinet. They will then have a hero’s parade in the new swanky stadium, and Mauricio Pochettino will definitely engage in a zealous celebratory act that will be even more entertaining than the match if his performance after the win against Man City is any indication.

Accepted! Now unless you are a Liverpool fan, you must surely support the Spurs. Everyone else hates Liverpool.

Self-delusion is what keeps us going! We just lost to Bournemouth after a combination of stupidity on our side and good old fashioned niggly tactics from Bournemouth. The boys will be motivated to put a good one in against Ajax.
